SOHC chain driven......and it gets by on only 3 valves per cylinder.....24 rather than 32.

I'm not sure which valve is missing......inlet or exhaust?

It's certainly in a low state of tune producing barely 60 BHP per litre. :-\

It does have 339 lb ft of torque by means of compensation though. :y

Wonder if the software can be upgraded? Like the BMW 2.5 lump is a 3.0 with detuned software. Wack the 3.0 software on and away you go, 3.0 in your 2.5.

Hmmm. Sounds tempting, Mr Gixer. As I said before, it is the 'runt of the litter'.....later CLS models having 5.5 litres and another 80 BHP before sticking a supercharger on it.

It will have a single exhaust valve and twin inlets, easier to pump exhaust gases out than to suck air in.

Would the exhaust valve be bigger than the inlet valves to compensate?  ???  :-\

I don't know, Tig :'(

But anyone who owned a Honda Wet dream/Superdream  will be familiar with three valves per cylinder.

Exhaust valve area will be proportional to the total inlet valve area so in this case, it will be equal to or slightly larger I would expect.

Little bit like this (perhaps larger exhaust valves) - these are '05 Mustang heads:

1. this monster can easily be tuned..  but I doubt you will need that..

2.if you try hard it can easily go down to  single digit consumption figures..

3. keep those winter tyres until end of march .. on a frosty road it may save you from high expenses..

Glad you buy that toy..  enjoy :y
