With a bit more freedom, pubs could have consciously chosen to be smoking or non smoking, and punters would have equally had the freedom to choose either or :-\ Smoking pubs with gardens could also offer table service, making them more appealing to non smokers... ......

Before the Government made a total ban on smoking in pubs, there used to be one smoke free pun in Bury ....... that was the pub that nobody - somker or not - used

What's a somker? And is there a pun involved. :-\

...fRat vinegar syndrome is catching I see. ;D

I believe there's a pub in Pompey which, as the embassy for somewhere obscure allows smoking within its walls...

The most ridiculous situation I've seen regarding the smoking ban was in a bar in The Hague, in The Netherlands.

As here it's illegal to smoke tobacco in the workplace, so smoking cigarettes in the bar was banned, however smoking anything else was allowed!  ;)  They had hefty bouncers going round making sure people weren't mixing tobacco with whatever they were putting into their rollups and anyone caught was ejected swiftly!!  ;D

The most bizarre thing was in the corner of the bar was a transparent perspex box with a bench and room for 3 or 4 people and a massive extractor fan where people could sit and smoke tobacco products!!  :D  Ironically the atmosphere in the perspex 'smoking room' was cleaner than the rest of the bar, which was really smoky with 'alternative smoking products' smoke!!  ;D ;D ;D

Work has just banned them from being 'smoked' in side as from now, they've to go outside with the smokers. A bit unfair I think to tell someone that is doing their best to stop smoking, to go & stand with the smokers.  ???

Hospital admissions for people suffering nicotine poisoning are on the rise due to e cigs which make it much easier to overdose. A nicotine overdose can cause death. :'(

http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/002510.htm

The also contain diethylene glycol a component of antifreeze and nitrosamine a known carcinogen. So what is safe in other people inhaling these passively?
