Sorry guys im leaving soon!!!
« on: 13 June 2008, 00:34:22 »

I'm leaving soon to go back to the vauxhall straight 6. I'm about to purchase a k plate senny 24v. I know that they are a bit ugly and getting old now but nothing beats that 3.0 24v staright 6 not even the moderner v6's. If any body id interested my omega will be up for sale in a week or so.

Quote from wikkipedia so I take no responsibility if it's wrong..

The Omega A was available in saloon and estate (Caravan) bodystyles as a competitor for the likes of the Ford Scorpio and Rover 800. Like the late Rekord, the Omega A adopted the Vauxhall Carlton nameplate for the British market. The Rekord-based Opel Senator A was also superseded by the Senator B, based on a similar concept - a stretched Omega platform and body along with some unique sheetmetal modifications.

No Thomas you can't leave us so soon after joining....it is not allowed!
 ;D ;)

Anyway, there is no harm in remaining on this site where we often talk about Senator's under 'General Chat'! 8-) 8-)  We still LOVE :-* :-* Senny's! :y

Are you a member of Autobahnstormers?  I would highly recommend their club magazine 'Straight Six News' as it features many articles about Senator's.  If I could afford it I would run both a Senny and my Omega.  Dreams, oh dreams!! ::) ::)

sell the mega and get a senny. I know that on them cold winter mornings when the 15year plus engine gives you hassle and wont start 1st time you will be p***ed off but as soon as it does fire and you are driving down the road, the smile on your face will make up for it all, you know im right

.......and I would add the great big straight six engines, with loaded interior / electrical packages and superb ride quality that gave 'all day' 120+ mph effortless cruising. :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :y

My Senny never did give me any problems whatsoever; always fired up first time no matter what the conditions. :y

People may knock the senny but when the 24v engine was relised in 1990 and the 12v from 1987 they had and the remaining examples still do have as much toys and gadgets as your omegas, and they had a 10stack cd player compared to the megas 6 stack, i know its petty but its true. That staright 6 24v engine could still give your 3.0 and 3.2 v6's a run for its money. Didnt it once hold the record for the fastest mass produced saloon car in the late 80's and early 90's ( so i read somewhere)

Ok then an even bigger smile is expected then. Gaurantee tomorrow morning when you get in your omega you will chuckle to yourself and wish it was a senny.

I wouldn't argue with much of that, if at all! :y

Just a great car with a 'cheese cutter' grill to proudly show its pedigree. :y :y :y

OH that grill lizzie, what were vauxhall thinking when they designed that grill but its so iconic. Very brittol though. I shattered 2 on my old one just by closing the bonnet a bit to hard. My favourite part has to be the twin tail pipes. I love the shape Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Oh my god im going mad look at me getting all excited over the car!!!
