F/L Door Swap

Does this sound about right.  :y

1. Open bonnet and SLACKEN earth strap bolts but do NOT remove earth strap
2. Ignition ON / ignition off
3. Remove earth strap within 30 secs
4. Have a brew  Why
5.Remove the red clip in the electrical socket between the door and door pillar and twist the ring on the connector which should release the loom.
6.undo the door strap
7.remove the top and bottom door hinge pins With the Tool in link below, but have someone holding the door oh and its bloody heavy

For a front door that's about it... :y

Don't need the tool, just a stout set of pliers and a steady hand with a hammer... Pliers used from the side, held tight and tapped in the appropriate direction with the hammer :y

Sealey tool no help on Omega doors, as it tend to spread the hinge pin and make it stick. Omega hinge pins have a useful shoulder at one end, so you can get a pair if pliers or a small spanner under it and hammer it off, as Al says.

Rears... open window, open door, unplug loom (plug in b pillar), close door, open front door, sit on edge of seat and knock the rear door pins out, stand up, support the rear door through the open window with one hand, pull door handle with tother hand and lift the door away :y

Takes as long to do as this did to type ;D

To give the airbag circuits chance to naturally discharge :y

The side airbag triggers are in the doors...

And on no account turn on the ignition whilst loom is disconnected :-[  ;D if you forget to disconnect the battery

Happy to do Omega servicing etc around Merseyside,cruise activation, airbag lights sorted too...

It's to do with the air bag light staying on ...... not triggering the actual air bag  ;)
