Mr Tunnie may be talking about the Signum.

It's a bit of an ugly fooker. ;D
That's subjective. I think they look ok, certainly not ugly.

I liked your previous choice, the CLS.

Yuk! They look like a suppository. :o Not that the Signum is any oil painting. ::)

What would you like to know?

Bluefin is probably the most convenient. You get a handset that enables you to rewrite the map/return to stock as required. Plus you may be able to sell the unit on when you are finished with this car. Plus they have a 7 day refund policy if you are not satisfied.

The others sound like a single shot map, which may be the better choice if they are cheaper/you plan to keep the car for a prolonged period/are sure you will be happy with the end product..

Dreamscience do not cater for Vx except the VXR. But their reputation and service is very good. They are predominantly Ford tuners.

With most FWD turbo cars, remaps usually cause issues with the clutch slipping. Especially if it has been previously abused. Drive shafts can go, Ford are particularly notorious for this.

Insurance will go up and most mainstream insurers will refuse to cover the remap. Use someone like Chris Knott or Sky to get better prices.

Edit: Pre and post dyno results are usually a great way for tuner to get more money from you. Results are usually operator dependent, highly variable and of very little use other than bragging rights.

Most seem to charge about £120- £150 for this service.

Don't know what it is about the CLS, I appear to see them everywhere at the moment. But I like them more and more  :-\

Price wise, quite reasonable too.

Used bluefin unit are virtually worthless as Superchips charge £225 plus VAT for a 'reset'....even if used on the same make of car. Bastards. :(

Yes indeed.

Far cheaper year for year than a Monaro or VXR8 despite costing almost twice as much when new (£70,000). You could do far worse, Mr Tunnie.

Unlike the Cls 500, you will find conventional suspension on the CLS 350 derv drinker. :y

Think most of the earlier ones are 320's?

I would be tempted by a 500, then an LPG conversion. If I found a 500 cheap enough, hopefully Josh is still selling cars in a few years time!

By the time I'm ready to get one, the facelift CLS would be an option  8)

How about JZW?  Have a read of this http://www.uksaabs.co.uk/UKS/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=117913  Dai's car is Manual, but if you have the same 5 speed Aisin Warner Autobox that I have in the 9-5, I'm curently running 285BHP and 440Nm Torque, and it handles that perfectly well.  I have done 3 fluid changes in quick sucession to ensure there is good oil in it though.
