...after several contributions to the swear jar (some of them equivalent to the GDP of the average third world country), the Bilstein B6s, MaxTrac springs, and an array of bushings, wishbones and arms have all been fitted. And some brakes that work.
It's in at WIM for geometry at 1000 tomorrow (I'll thank you all not to point out that it means a very early start from The North) - even with four odd tyres, and not set up, I'm impressed - ride is a little on the firm side, but I can deal with that as it only does about 2k a year, mostly for fun. Can't wait to feel it after the setup...
I am of course expecting either the engine to fall out on the journey down, or for the WIM staff to point out I've fitted the shockers upside down, the wheels back to front, and left several vital bolts loose. But I'm an optimist...
Must at this point say thank you to Jason and Matt at All German - they've put up with me ringing them every thirty seconds to buy a different widget, or ring up and complain when something I haven't remembered to order, hasn't arrived. Thank you to the collection of chaps who have done the guides for changing all of the above - wouldn't have dared do it without. Also to the parts department at Sherwoods Stockton (same reason), the guys at Thornaby Machine Mart (for kitting out my garage anew over the last three weeks)... and MrsGK for not setting me and the MV6 on fire when I've been out til midnight working on him some nights. I recommend all of them, apart from MrsGK.
