The case lid will keep falling off when open but apart from that it should be fine.  ;D

(or is it just my lids that fall off due to the poor hinges)  :-\

Thanks, Sir Tig. For £100 delivered I though I would take a punt.

If memory serves the last time it was 'on offer' it was £150....or was it £120?

I doubt they sell many (or any) for £250.

I saw it advertised for that and agree it is a good price for the 170 piece.  :y

Love my set. All I'll say is the 'breaker bar' is pointless, given it's about 8 inch long  :o  and I bought myself a (Halfords) longer, flexi head ratchet, which functions brilliant as my 'every day' 'go to' ratchet. I was very sceptical about the three sizes of ratchet included, thinking all but the 1/2" drive to be pointless (Having always used nothing but a 1/2" drive Britool for donkeys years) however, found them all to be brilliant, and barely use the 1/2" drive one, now. Initially bought a Sealey ratchet, which I promptly gave away to a friend, and bought a Halfords one instead, so poor was the quality in comparison.

Can't rate it high enough, really, Other than I wish it had a 18mm spanner, 9/10.

This is where the 200pc comes in, full range of sockets and spanners, and more crossover between 3/8 and 1/2 drive.  Bloody heavy, mind.

For the money, its very good.  Keep receipt safe, though, as they usually insist on seeing it for warranty exchanges.

The 1/2 to 3/8 and 3/8 to 1/4 adapters are a bit weak if you really lean on them (or use impact guns ::)), but with the receipt, I've never had any quibble.

The spanner set is £37.50

http://www.halfords.com/workshop-tools/tools/tool-kits/halfords-25-piece-combination-spanner-set
That's marginally cheaper than trade as well :y

Not being Advanced, not lifetime warranty :(, but yet to damage one:)

I did ponder this, however, literally for the wont of an 18mm spanner (got a 'it'll do for now' britool one at a car boot sale for 50p) and a longer 3/8 ratchet, decided the rest of the 200pc set wasn't worth the extra money.

Hope the good Doctor likes it  :)
