Red Diesel No-More!
« on: 16 July 2008, 20:39:54 »

Had an interesting letter from 'Her Majesty`s Revenue'; it would appear that from November the 1st.; Red Diesel will not longer be available.
Legitimate cherry users (Farm, Plant-Equipment, Generators, Boaters/Bargees) will have to buy full price DERV and prove 'appropriate' commercial-only use to be able to claim back the dutiable portion of the cost as a HMC&E rebate.
Easy to prove for a registered company; well-nigh impossible for a boater, smallholder or home plant/generator user!

Needless U.K government/EU tinkering yet again.... >:(

I think these are the flailings of a government in the death throws of their term of office. They don't have a ruddy clue.

"Action to prevent fraud and duty avoidance"

Seems to me that having all that unidentifiable/untraceable and 50% commercially-rebated "White/legal-looking DERV" sloshing around the fuel black-market will open up MORE avenues for crime/fraud.....but, there I go again; using common sense....it`ll never do! :(

That'll be the diesel dippers out of a job then.
Wonder what gormless scheme they'll dream up to keep that army of fuel duty inspectors busy now then.

I believe in some parts of the U.K there`s presently a 10 day wait for Kersosene (heating oil) deliveries, the bunker companies are citing: "Supply problems"!!!!

Kerosene is currently priced at 60p/litre (that`s a 100% increase in the last 18 months).....but, wait for it: there`s a 10p/litre surcharge for deliveries under 6000 litres!!!!!!!! :o

Somebody is making a killing out of the fuel price/tax situation >:(

But with all the criminal activity going on around this fuel it must be the case of the minority spoliling it for the majority! >:( >:(

Now the likes of you Debs suffer from those fools through no fault of your own, and makes farming even harder! >:(

I am sure you will not let this get you down though! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D :y :y
