Izal is still in use in Greece, well it was in Crete airport last I returned home from there with a dose of the Trots 

Izal and a dose of the shits is not a desirable combination. 

Especially when there was a 4hr delay and it was 100 degrees  the chafing was ferocious to say the least

As kids we used Izal. It came in single sheets and was useless for the required purpose.

Important Royal court job m'lud being the official servant that wiped the King's/Queen's harris after they had been. You can't be as rich as you let on if you can't afford a servant dedicated to such an important task, using the finest oriental lotions, cotton and silk cloth for that fashionable polished look popular amongst the landed nobility.
