Nope, no decent diesel auto estates for less than £10k. Zero, nada, zip... >:D
That link returns 467,000 cars.

If it sorts itself out when you stop and turn it off, and on again.  Try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes or so, that can sometimes clear electrical gremlins out.  :)

I just found my dream car... Search for yours https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202502209296164?advertising-location=at_cars&atmobcid=soc5&body-type=Estate&fromsra&fuel-type=Diesel&price-to=5000&radius=40&searchId=8a98e8e1-23b8-4f34-8b42-369253957da0&sort=price-asc&transmission=Automatic

From the MoT history this one would be a pretty safe bet as well.
An ancient Volvo, with starship miles, in Bradford. Perfect  ;D

Mine had 190,000 miles on it when I sold it, but it was great. Kinda wish I hadn't got rid now.  :-\

I'll need to find a replacement for the Mondeo soonish.  I want a big estate and another V70 is definitely high on the list.  :y

Or maybe an XC70.  :)

Well don't get it from Bradford.

At least the paint hasn't fallen of it >:D

Besides it will probably out live your Astra.

XC 70 has handbrake issues and cables are a bar steward to renew on older model.

I think I may have over egged the state of my Astra's paintwork. The front doors are 'pinkish', not 'falling off'. It's a bit mucky right now, but you can probably see what I mean

And, as for outliving my astra....no. I haven't spent a penny on it.....ever, so it's in need of a bit of tlc.
I could buy a car for a few grand, spend thousands on it, and lose money when I come to sell it. But I don't think I'll bother  ;D
