You're going to Love amsterdam.  I had 2 very good meals there one cost quite a bit the other was very cheap.  I seriously recommend the second, a fondu place near the center, a bit dark and dingy but it was very good food.....

Brussels, main square very expensive, just outside much cheaper and the beer is the same.  But stay away from the EU area where prices are astronomical.  More Brits in that quarter than any other
