Best Breadmaking Machine ever
« on: 12 October 2008, 16:31:27 »

OK, I know the best breadmaking machine ever is your hands to the purists but for those whose hands are not quite up to par.., I bought a Panasonic SD255 this week.  Read a load of reviews that say its the best ever and thought ok, might give it a try (if as bad as my other one it was going straight back).

Can't believe how good it is.  Average loaf costs £0.50p to make (including electricity costs) - compared to same for cardboard bread or £1.20 for decent shop bought bread but this tastes excellent and is easy to use (takes less than 2 mins to load with yeast, flour, little salt and scoop of butter) and rises very nicely. None of those yukky US recipes with dried milk in and 'guaranteed to be unhealthy' salt by the mountain load (apologies to anyone from US here).  I got mostly very sound bricks out of my other breadmaker but this one is totally different and I'm sure makes a far healthier, tastier loaf.

Generally have a queue forming as the thing finishes cooking lol.

And no, I didn't buy it off ebay lol.., cheaper on Amazon (and easier to return) :P :P :P

You have set me off with the bread making machine.  I have not made bread since I was a teenager.

I have been considering moving and with one thing or annother it wont be this year, but may now be next year.  I have in the mean time been buying stuff for my new kitchen.  Slow cooker, coffe perculator etc.  I have the original George Forman grill but hve been looking at a different one, then you come along mentionioning bread makers, and my lips are dripping with the thought of a bacon buttie on fresh bread or even toast.

So then went looking t toasters and found this.

I like the look of it and the egg poacher thing, down side it wont adjust to take thicker brad slices for my bacon butties. ::) ::) ;D ;D :y

One thing that gets used a lot in out house is the rice cooker.  We have a heavy duty one and in the past 2 years it has been hammered but still produced grade A rice.  The wife is half japanese and I am part Indian so rice is very important to us!

It takes accurate measurements and these can differ with different brands of rice.  It has taken about a year of learning but now the wife wont allow anyone but me to make the rice, not even herself! lol

yes that could be a good idea if u'r in the habit of wanting poached eggs and possibly could stop u boiling the poachingpan dry and ending up melting the egg poaching holders like I've done a couple of times lol.

But nothing can beat my breadmaker lol.  I'll trot along and give u lessons if u need them (altho it couldn't really be any simpler)

Only got one cause amazon reduced the price from £99 to £88.., my reward for actually selling a car lol - call it commission lolol.., sign up for a free trial of amazon prime and its free next day delivery too lol

pfft no need for a dishwasher lol.  Only takes 15mins to do by hand.., longer in a dishwasher and all that water going down the drain lol.  I'm afraid u've hit on my pet hate :P

Now if I could find an automatic floor washer that didn't cost the earth and actually did what it said on the tin.., I'd get that lol

Skruntie, read the review for your toaster/poacher.., poacher isn't non stick so would be yukky washing it up lolol.
