... About nasty/threatening letters?
Just had a call from a very upset girlfriend, who has recieved one, typically just after I've left to go to work [smiley=angry.gif]
Contents were mostly more offensive than threatening, such as "why are you so fat", "you look like a bloke"... etc. There is also some complete hogwash in there about being a bad mother and not feeding her daughter, which I can confirm is absolutely ridiculous.
Denying a kid junk food in an attempt to make them eat proper meals is hardly wrong.
I personally believe, that this letter originates from an incident that occured last week, when someone she enrusted to babysit, effectively robbed her, albeit petty things, such as DVDs, full bottles of spirits, a small (ish) amount of money
which was hidden in her bedroom! We spoke to the people that were trusted with the house, who pretty much re-imbursed us for what was taken, so did not see any need to involve police at that time.
However after recieving this letter, something is obviously still not right. She has no significant enemies that she's aware of, and very few people she associates with, not having been in the area for very long.
When she got this letter, I told her to call the police helpdesk. She was basically told that it wasn't a police matter and not important? Is this so?
I understand it doesn't need an immediate police presence, but can they really just dismiss it full stop?
I called them and got the same answer, which I wouldn't stand for and insisted on speaking to someone more senior. I was eventually told to take her to the station after the weekend.
Which I will certainly do.
I'm fuming
