Not ridden one, but those sports bikes don't really do it for me. Especially with my height.

I don't know much about bikes, or bike dealers tbh..but charging £20 to potential customers for a 30 minute ride doesn't make much business sense to me? BMW Oxford is a pretty good garage, my uncle bought a new 525i from there and the after service was fantastic, and another family member bought a bike from there...no idea what it was. It went in for servicing or whatever and as they had no courtesy bikes available he had a 7 series for the day. I'm not a bike person, but might just buy one to get a 7 series for the day  ;D
Oxford BMW are probably the only dealer that can give Evans Halshaw a good name. They are truely, unbelievably awful.  And it hasn't just been 1 or 2 incidents, they are incompitent and really dont care about people's pride and joy.

They are the clots who put my brothers brand new £70k X5 through a carwash with the sunroof wide open, then had the nerve to hand the keys over as if nothing had happened :o.  Wouldn't even sort it out, simply disinterested.

Tbh, I think they are the 2 most ugly bikes I have ever seen. You should have to be over 18 to be allowed to look at them. :D...........but each to their own etc.
A workmate bought one of those adventure things new a couple of years ago, iirc he paid around £10,000 for it,I told him just how pretty I didnt think it was,he got the hump and offered me a race (we had a 2 mile private circuit where we worked),He had the hump even more after that. ::) ;D

Agreed there are sexier bikes out there, but i think it looks good!

They are also deceptively fast, won't win any races but not too shabby either  :D
Like hell they are, they are sluggish tourers.  There are much, much better tourers out there. Don't get hung up on Long Way Round, their's were very heavily modified, and look how often they kept coming off and having to get help to lift it.

Best thing to do with a X5, bar driving off a cliff

can't deny that, but thats wholly disrespectful of customer's property, and not like they made any effort to rectify, hoping he wouldn't notice the water pour out when he opened the door.

I found myself sweeping around roads near chipping norton, much faster than i do on my MT.

It was soooo comfy!

Tried some Honda's, did not like any of them really. Handle bars too narrow, nothing really inspiring there.

I could see myself sitting on that bike all day long  8-)

Can't speak for car dealership, but i was most impressed with the bike section, and going from GS forums, the Oxford dealer has good reviews! (for bikes not cars)

Someone dropped off their GSA for a service, they had no courtesy bikes, so he was given a 7 Series instead.

I sat on the Honda Deaville which is also a tourer, not exactly comfy!

i got the complete opposite impression personally!

For me it felt very natural to ride, with plenty of over taking power and could cruise at 80/90 allll day long.

Plenty of room in mine, just no room for a car  ::)

Besides why should a 800 quid car get the garage over a 8 grand bike?  ;D

good point, bloody things weigh as much as a small car,if I dropped one of those I would have to leave it where it was, wouldnt have a hope of picking it up.Also power/weight ratio cant be too impressive.
If you want something that can accomadate your height with a LOT of serious grunt and can go round corners quicker than you can even dream of Tunnie, take my advice, test ride the Aprillia. :y

They are easy as pie to lift, due to the boxer engine, plenty of vids in youtube of small people lifting a fully loaded GSA.

Tbh, i don't want a bike with stupid power, i drive a 4 pot Omega!

I have ridden those type of bikes, i get sholder ache within 20 mins, visibility is poor cause i am hunched over, i don't like having the weight on my wrists.

I did over 200 miles on the GS on Friday, and was absolutely fine!
