As some of you know i make my living as a dj  and do loads of different kinds of work.
one of the things i do is school  and local community centre discos at very favorable rates.
The school that BOTH my children go to has asked me to do a 2 hour disco for halloween and i have replied with a flat no and now i am feeling guilty as hell.
the reason i have said no is my son is in primary 5  and has been bursting into tears in the classroom and blowing his top at what seems to be frustration and anger
While i agree this is  unacceptable behaviour no one untill now has bothered to communicate this information home to me.
he has had no consistency with teachers as they seem to always be off sick long term and supply teachers get put in to replace them. he now has a teacher who is suggesting my son is just lazy and unwilling to do the work while at the same time he is being tested by the school psycologist  for dyslexia  and his teacher knows this but wont get off his back.
for example  his homework used to take him 3 hours  and a session of crying  switched to the computer for homework and its done in 10 mins  however his teacher refuses to grade him highly on it because it was done on the computer and not hand written.
ffs cut him some slack

anyway needless to say i am furious but untill we get the results of the testing my hands are tied.
I do feel the school is failing a bright young lad  and i  seem to be powerless to prevent it.
i have stopped having anything to do withthe school  ie helping with school lunches  open days  the pta  etc as i worry i will snap at someone while i am there   hence the reasson i said no to the school disco but i feel soooo guilty for doing so.

ps other schools have asked me to do discos for them too and i have said no as it would kill me not to do my local school that my kids attend  and do another school
