Well they they reckon a bullet travels faster than the speed of sound, which is 768 mph.  That expert should have said that all victims of modern weapons never heard the shot that killed them

2.64 seconds assuming a constant muzzle velocity, probably nearer 3 seconds in real life as the bullet would be slowing down during it's course.
Either way the insurgents wouldn't have been aware it was coming, and it's a foooooooking impressive piece of marksmanship by anybody's standards.

drop a ball from shoulder height - how long it takes to hit the ground is how long a bullet fired horizontally at shoulder height would take to hit the ground, so to answer your question we need to know the snipers altitude at the time and the velocity of the bullet, plus at that distance you need to think of the curvature of the earth as well  :o ;)

my physics teacher at school explained this to me in the 80's - it was a sniper and a monkey hanging from a branch - the bullet was fired straight between the monkeys eyes and the monkey let go of the branch at the precise time the shot was fired - as both the bullet and the monkey fall at the same rate, the monkey still gets it between the eyes  :( :o

no monkeys were harmed during the expirement  ;D

A 7.62 NATO round fired at optimum tragectory will travel about 4 miles.

lets hope they keep breaking that record  :y

anything past 10 feet starts to blur now for me so the sights would have to be the hubble telescope to get a good image on my rifle  ;D ;D

theres a scene in "the hurt locker" where he takes out some insurgents from what looks like a couple of miles - i thought it was poetic licence - obviously not :o :o

its not only good eye, its taking into account surroundings, weather, wind speed and such, would all alter trajectory of a bullet over that distance
