I must admit that, even after 18 years working in the mobile phone industry, I have problems appreciating why people need these bloated phones.

For me, a mobile needs to be with me all the time and primarily gets used for voice calls and messaging, so it must be small, light, have a good battery life (the best part of a week) and be usable for the above.
I have a proper camera for taking photos, a proper PC for running "apps" and a netbook to do same if I happen to be out and about.
If I'm in a situation where I can stop and send a mail or do some surfing I can get the "proper" computer out rather than mess about with keys 1/3rd the size of my fingers and a poxy touch screen.
The thing that gets me about the i-phone, having used one a little, is that it is, IMHO, utterly rubbish for voice calls and SMS/MMS messaging. Speech quality is appalling and the messaging support was clearly an afterthought.
So, put as many bells and whistles as you like on it. If it doesn't function properly as a phone, it's a dead loss, IMHO.
Is it only me who's still mourning the passing of the 6310i?
