Just watched the clip once by myself and again with the wife watching it as well. First time watching I took it in, second time watching it made me open my eyes wide and started to think about how I drive, I think I drive well and with carefulness but by christ I will think twice when some teenage boy racer in his body modified paxo with loud exhaust and a 1.0 engine cuts me up, to have a quick flash back to that clip and remember NOT to put my foot down and do the same to him. Well done Simon to find that clip  :y .

That is shocking, made me think about my own driving, which I think to a high standard but I often see on country roads cars coming towards you on a bend that look as if they are struggling to keep it on their side of the road :( The entrance to our village is a good example and I have an 'escape plan' constantly in my head, was not long ago that I pulled a friend of Master Vamps out of his Mothers 'rolled' Corsa, fortunately he was almost unhurt... :)

Having done recovery for quite a while I have seen the aftermath of some horrific accidents but that was truly an eye opener :'( :'( :'(

Some truly horrific accidents shown there, not easy to watch knowing that people are dying on screen. Boy racers should be shown real-life scenes like this IMO, not just reconstructions which don't quite convey the horror, and be shown the aftermath of such stupidity.

I attend a reasonable amount of RTCs. There are lots of people who wouldn't be here if it wasn't for the development in car design and safety systems. Lots of crashes people walk away from now whereas before they would be brown bread. That's not a green light to drive like a loony though obviously! The car running the pizza guy over looks like a Senator! Brilliant I love Senators!

I don't think it makes much difference at all as the majority of people who have watched this film or others like it will fail to heed the message the next time they get behind the wheel.

Speed used in inappropriate circumstances, inattention to the prevailing road conditions and the actual task of driving the vehicle, are amongst the primary motivators in road traffic incidents/collisions.

However, the majority will continue as before as we're not in the car to drive it with safety uppermost in our minds, we are in the car to use it as a means of getting from A to B as quickly possible with the least amount of inconvenience caused to our ‘busy ‘ schedules.

we lost a family friend a few weeks ago
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/10288186

And while i agree a 21 year old shouldnt have a bwm 328i and he was probably booting it he didnt deserve to die
Incidently he died from the main artery to his heart rupturing and bled to death. at what speed do you need to be doing then sudden stop for that to happen?

I'm afraid the video is only shocking because it's new viewing. Most people would get immune if they saw it too often.  It is useful for showing actual car-on-pedestrian collisions in my view as the 'rag-doll' effect is shocking.

The best feedback a driver can have on car-car collisions is to be in a car when it happens - hopefully not too severe!

Films and clips like this should be shown on a regular basis on tv, and also at driving schools,
I watched the whole film and was still shocked at some of it.
I have seen my fair share of RTA's after being a truck driver for nearly 20 years and also being a member of the voluntary fire brigade in Germany I have also cut quite a few people out of wrecks,
unfortunatly accidents will still happen, you or others might not be at fault, you could have a blow out on a motorway doing the legal limit what sends the car out of controll or like some of the clips show, standing at a crossing when someone else rams you pushing your car forward.

I hope everyone does take heed of the clip and we all stay safe.

It's the people driving them who are dangerous i.e. Us
I agree, the only way an inanimate object can possibly present any danger is if there is human intervention.
