When I was testing I always used to remove them on the way into the test bay... They've been incredibly petty and stupid and if it were me I'd be contacting VOSA and the local press as they have actually issued a VT30 without cause (as the manual states you should have been given the opportunity to remove it) ::) ::) Obviously if it had failed on something else then that would be different :y :y

But it has given us all a really good laugh today ;D ;D ;D :y :y :y

See you don't care about your post count then, but I have to agree...... ;D ;D ;D

You most certainly need another test stn if this is true. I've used the same one for years now. If it's dangerous it'll fail but he's understanding & lenient. If for example the car's well maintained but needs a wiper blade, he'll tell you to get one pronto, or he'll re align a headlight, replace a bulb etc. Once on a Mondeo (sorry) it passed but i'd overlooked an iffy front tyre. He held the new certificate & the keys up & told me i could have them when i fitted the legal spare, cup of tea thrown in.
     Can't moan at that. 8-)

My GLS was 100% ok before its test as I had been out in it the night before, went for the MOT in September and the N/S dip beam filament had gone (So was a fail).  The tester put me a brand new bulb in, and carried on doing the test.

When complete, went to pay, only got chaged for the MOT, asked how much for the bulb and fitting, they responded No Charge.  Pays to stick with the same testers (Sometimes)
