Its just he annoyed me on the news trying to justify the prices, then saying the decision to give London kids free tickets was now on hold, this is the pledge they made to try & get people to give the olympics the thumbs up, then they have got the front to ask for 100`s of volunteers to work for nothing during the games, i notice Lord poker face didnt do it for nothing. >:( >:(

damned if they do, damned if they don't, always a tough one. Tbh think they have to strike a right balance, there is a scheme to get 8 of 10 London secondary school kids to go games for free!!!

At the end of the day, business will pay for these high priced tickets to impress clients and such.

Tickets were always going to be stupid money!

I think people are being a bit unfair here and looking at the headline prices.  If you consider that for children under 16 the ticket will be priced at their age and that the road-based events are free to watch as just two examples then there has obviously been a lot of thought gone into trying to make the games accessible.

The other side to this is of course the premium seat prices, which are undoubtedly pretty eye-watering.  However, why should such seats or events be priced cheaply when some people will attempt to profit from them and make money for themselves?  At least this way the games are clawing back some of the investment, and personally if I was going to be paying a high price for a seat then I would prefer it was to the organisers and not some scummy tout.  >:(

I think the games will be well attended, partly because the audience base is Europe-wide and the transport links are there for people to come from far and wide, and partly because you can't compare London 2012 to the utter shambles that was Delhi.  I've got experience of both and the organisation for the Olympics is light-years ahead.

Without appearing to be answering someone else's post, I think the point here is that Coe got his peerage more down to his background and expertise than from being a mate of the former PM.  However, I wouldn't necessarily say that Coe being an ex-Tory MP excludes him from being on friendly terms with our undoubtedly impoverished Mr Blair though.

sport is about making money now and nothing more.most sportsman get appearance money now and not for there talent. its marketing a product. olympics, world cup and all national sports income is based on who will be there on the day. companies pay big money and expect a huge return on there investment.
