Yep Phil, God Bless Americans! :D :D :D :D ;)

This is what pisses me off about yanks:

Entry from online dictionary:

par·a·lyse (pr-lz)
v. Chiefly British
Variant of paralyze.

Paralyse is not a rather variant of paralyze. It's the other way round you dicks. Get your own language instead of bastardising ours.

Cool down Steve, you will go a funny color in the center of your mind! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;)

That's colour.  :-?

But you are happy with "center" then Steve!  You are becoming Americanised! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;)

That's Americanized :P

Neither Budweiser nor Boddingtons are even close to being drinkable.

Having known Americans most of my life, visited their country, lived with Americans on a number of acassions, and loved everything about the United States of America along with their culture, no one can say anything against them whilst I am around! ;) ;)

For me my life, and the future, would be a lot sadder without the US of A, and certainly I believe our very existence (well mine and my children anyway!) would be in grave doubt without them since 1940, to date :y :y :y

I would also prefer to see the UK as an American State than us become just another State of Europe! :P :P

Are you a dictator now then LZ? or is this just a gender thing :D :D  I was of the understanding we can say what we like, though we may lose our post count...... :D :D :D

On so-called "American" spelling, there appears to be some confusion.

Many verbs that end in -ize can also end in -ise: both endings are correct in British English, though you should stick to one or the other within a piece of writing. For example: finalize/finalise; organize/organise; realize/realise.

Prior to WWII, the -ize was widespread and has historical precedent in our language, though the -ise ending has become more common since then.  :y

what p's me off about American spelling is when it's used and the writer has no idea that they've used the 'wrong' spelling. eg here (those that don't use English as their first language are excused  ;))

If you're referring to things like the -ize endings, I refer the honourable member to my post above.  ;) ;D
