I must admit Aaron. I do like an extra pinch of feminine flesh on a woman.  :y :y :y

Oooh no, no ,no  Opti.

She must be a size 10 max, 5'11" - 6' tall, 32 A in bust size, have long flowing hair, with eyes displaying untold depth and a voice of the most mellifluous tone, her lips should be so inviting to the point where One can only but surrender immediately to their caress and all these attributes under orders from a brain the size of a small island.

Finally and perhaps most importantly this woman must have the spirit of a warrior and the compassion of one who always seeks to find the best in others and who will always give of her best in return.

Do I ask for too much?

I do hope you are waiting till she is 16... :D :D :D

Ditto.. most of my exes have been rubinesque, all except one actually.. granted one of them looked a bit like Shrek, but two (one thin and one not) were gorgeous (IMHO, of course!)

I wish I could claim to be your weights, though! I'm 5'9" and 27st :-/ always been overweight (for as long as I can remember, so at least back to 7-8) and it's accelerated as I've got older.

I know if I drop back to 1200-1500kcal a day I can lose 1-2lb a week, which would see me back at 'ideal' in 2-3 years.. 'course if you calculate my RMR and how many kcal I 'theoretically' expend per day, I ought to lose weight at 5-6lb a week on that diet and annoyingly I've known people who can do just that.. just like I reckon some of you would be surprised what I (don't) eat in a day normally, yet am like this ;)

Such is life, eh!
Exercise is the key mate, you can eat what you want if you exercise enough. I used to do quite a strenuous job and there was a point at which I was stuffing my face because I wanted to put weight on.
I do a fair bit of mountain biking in the warm weather and find that I can eat a lot more without putting weight on. If you just wait for a diet to lose your weight, you'll just deprive yourself all the time for a very slow result, not much fun at all

You're quite right, of course - I've always been very sedentary (and as a child, shy and retiring so no running around with other kids for me) - had a desk job my whole life and never managed to get 'into' the gym the way some people do..

Past a certain point my insecurities got the better of me and I couldn't face going to a gym anymore (being the fattest bloke in there is just.. embarrassing) and getting motivated to exercise at home is definitely not easy when there are a thousand more interesting things to do ;)

I suppose one day I'll either get my head around it all and lose weight ... or it'll kill me. One or the other, probably the latter.

You don't need to be 'doing the gym' mate - actually, despite being quite fit and active, I hate the gym, I'd rather be out in the fresh air cycling or walking. Just having a walk in a nice area every day where you just get a little breathless is a good start. I'm fortunate where I live, I have the Brecon Beacons national park on my doorstep  :)

It's always worth losing a bit of weight if you're that heavy, your everyday life will be so much easier. It's never too late, it can be done. Best of luck

I saw the documentary in January.

I really don't know what to say.  But it's like any addiction/compulsive disorder (i.e. gambling, spending, smoking, drugs, alcohol etc) the only person that can ultimately stop is themself.  And they need to want to.

What sickens me the most is the burden obesity has on the NHS.  It's shocking, and the reason for the majority of obesity is simply indulgence.  Having too much of a good thing.

Why should we have to pay for the treatment of peoples' self-inflicted health problems?  Someone chooses to binge drink, someone chooses to smoke 40 a day, someone chooses to eat way too much unhealthy food and then after a period of regular consumption it becomes routine and habit.

I strongly believe that anyone overweight (how ever much it is) is capable of losing it naturally if they WANT to.  Will power and mental strength is key...and obviously the desire and need to as well.

when I was about 21 or 22, I went to the doctors (can't remember what for) and was weighed.

I was 5'8 and 14st.
the doctor said I was "at least" 2 1/2 stones overweight.

At the time, i was training for an international Jiu Jitsu competition, and running 13 miles a day (in two sessions to and from work).
I was probably about 8% body fat

On the other hand, I'm about 17st now - and probably am 3 or 4 stone overweight.

The easiest way to tell (according to my coach of the time).
Go to the swimming pool, get in the deep end, and breathe out.
If you float, you're overweight.
If you sink, you're not.

As to eating disorders/obesity etc.
I see it as a mental illness, as much as anorexia.
And I think the sufferers should receive more sympathy - and help.

I'm practically an identical build to tunnie, but a confirmed 6'4

i fought extremely hard to put weight on last year after never in 29 years being happy with myself, got up to just under 14 stone, from eating right and weight training, then dropped to 11½ in the first 3 months of this year due to personal issues

i've managed to get myself back to just above 12 stone (measured at night after a big poo) but i know i'll struggle to get heavier unless i work at it tirelessly, but the problem is, like many people, those who work tirelessly to climb to a certain goal weight tend to be those who are doing it as a hobby as much as other stuff, ie body builders, and they have to follow such a heavy disciplined method. Since i'm not specifically interested in body building as a hobby, i find it shockingly hard to motivate myself and even to eat right, even though i generally do eat good food

some people deal with emotional issues differently, some eat for comfort, and some lose appetite (me)

The only time i ever put on weight was when I was an IT techy at a School (free lunches!) I put on a stone in year, which is unheard of for me.

Just a month or so after leaving, the weight fell off....

coming back to the original topic, i'm torn between feeling sympathy for the bloke and feeling angry with him.

on one side of the coin there is the sympathy cos the guy obvious has psychological problems but then there's the the other side which thinks take some personal responsibility for your own health.

one thing i have never ever understood is as follows:

i watched the programme on the then britains fattest man (lad from brummy land who watched birmingham city every week). he went out every saturday with his mates after the football, ate 8 currys and drank 40 pints of beer.

sorry but as the bloke is so fat and cant work wher the f*ck does he get the money to eat and drink like that everyday??????? :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/
