I think I'm all ready for the big event!!

I've got all the parts I need. However I've just been reading a post that says its essential t do an oil/filter change if you're doing the cam cover gaskets and cleaning the breathing system, because of all the carb cleaner!!

Is this the case? I hadn't planned on doing an oil/filter change so I don't have the parts, and I'm not gonna have chance to get them now before Saturday!  :-/

After discussion with Lazytinker, we reckon its better if everyone brings their own food. Lazytinker has been forced kindly agreed to be chef.

He's going to be cooking on a gas griddle and an electric griddle, so guess bacon sarnies/baps are easiest, or sausages (from experience, chipolatas tend to cook better on griddles that fat sausages). I guess he can do burgers on griddles as well.

Hope thats OK with everyone :y

I'II be bringing my own food. Do we have a BBQ to cook on??
I have a very long extension lead in the back of the car which I will be bringing along.

I have 20ltrs of both full and semi at the moment I will put both in just incase. I will bring my own food for the day and have ordered CURRY at night. Almost have all the parts as had a cock up end of last week with car pass but am on track now and due to pick up more parts Thursday with trade card, If I don't get all the jobs done this weekend will just have to do later but misfire issue last week and cam belt need doing as car is 8 years old in March so due cam belt. Misfire may have been down to low voltage? would like to check breathers and cam covers so will have the parts on me and if don't need can let go at cost if anyone needs them. How often do we do ATF? Have large set of tools which will be with me. May need advice on cam belt and use of locking kit please. Have a few other parts in garage will put them in. will need Tech2 check TB if you have time please but don't have correct car pass yet so don't know how much you can do without it, may be another visit to yours later or at next Oxford meet? :y

Not likely... I'm banned from the kitchen for a reason :-X ::)

Although I'm getting quite good at operating the Kenwood and sampling the finished results :D :D

I reckon I'll be smelling Brownies cooking tomorrow evening ::)

Depens how badly blocked they are. The bit thats relevant to oil changes is the breather box behind pot 5. "If" thats fairly clear, or doesnt need too much carb cleaner then should be fine......."if"...?

So if we start the job at that point we can decide weather to proceed further depending.?

Thanks to TB, LD, Jim and Chris for your replies!  Sounds like between you guys, you have thought of everything!

I shall bring all the parts that I've got, and hopefully if I've missed anything, the gaps can be filled!

LD, I'll definately take you up on your offer of sitting on my shoulder and talking me through things if you don't mind? That is if it doesn't effect your cheffing duties...  :y
