.....
My commute is only 11 miles so most of the journey its not hot.
 ......

Your car mus be the slowest car to heat up in the world then  :-?. I'd consider 11 miles to be a fairly long comute and the car to be warmed up in the first couple of miles.  :y

Takes a good 4/5 miles to heat up fully....

2.5 v6 - 25.8 since the beginning of the year.Drive it like miss daisy these days, but very little motorway type use.Its replacement will have to be much more economical,so a nice car with LPG or a diesel engine,or a hideous little shitebox with a small petrol engine. :'(

DTi is pretty good on slow and urban journeys due to manual box - autos can sap the mpg below 50mph

I drove a 2.5TD with a manual box on a 25 mile journey yesterday which was about 6 miles of motorway and the rest A roads  and according to the computer I was getting 51mpg :o

I am considering selling the MX5 or Rover diesel and keeping this ;)

on a 240 mile run to cardiff, so mostly motorway, I got a masseeve 23mpg.  :-/

that was on gas, in a 2 litre estate loaded with an average of 4 blokes an a bit of luggage going at the  speed of most traffic.

its hard to work out mpg with dualfuel but generally it's always in the 20s!

I pay 42p at home but had to fork out 55p closer to Wales. :o :o even more annoyed when it was 52p 14 miles later!  >:(  ;D

Still, 10p a mile is ok for me :)
