wheels ran away :(
« on: 11 March 2011, 17:59:26 »

Bit of a shock today. Ended up chasing my wheel down the road after it popped off and bounced up and down the side of my car. both back wheels popped off while going round a roundabout. (what i kick in the nads) n/s/r stayed on went under the arch and so did very littel damage. o/s/r like i said dented every pannel on the drivers side and rolled away... Booked into a garage tomorow for tracking balancing and new wheel bolts all around. Then into the body shop next week. what you all think? someone want me dead?

You do realise, if someone has loosened your wheel nuts, that can be classed as attempted murder.

Last time I lost a wheel (a few years ago), it was because the garage had done them up too tight.  I was driving quite fast at the time ::), but fortunately a ditch slowed me to a halt.

Excess loads on them, they eventually shear. Which puts excess stress on the others, and fairly quickly went braking hard for a 70 degree tight right hander, you see your NSF wheel beating you to the apex...  ...around the sme time you get that unmistakable sensation of the brake disc shattering as it ploughs into tarmac.

On a serious note though, someone who was a friend of one of my family members did this to a bloke who cheated with his wife, he went inside for it, and they did class it as attempted murder  :-/
