Dual Ram box thingy
« on: 01 June 2011, 19:58:06 »

Hi, still collecting parts, just bought another mig welder, for my V6 into an MX5 job, But do  I have to keep the dual ram thing just behind the rad? Or will it be ok without? I have seen someone replace it with an aftermarket one???

Ideally I want to loose it but dont want to loose low down power..

If using same ecu, the solenoids need to remain.  The multiram purpose is to flatten torque curve, so depends on your requirements :)

You can use a Cavalier/Calibra V6 ECU & loom - that works fine but has no multiram - so you dispense with the solenoids mentioned :y :y

A friend of mine keeps threatening to break his old 3.2 and put the engine in something like a Westfield .. I think I'll send him that; he'll be out in the garage with a set of spanners within an hour I reckon ;D

I've seen that Westfield in the flesh and it is very nice indeed.

In fact, that picture on the front page of their web site... I think me and my Westfield are lurking in the background somewhere... ;D

I've been that busy that in the last 18 months or so, I've managed to make some engine mounts, fit the front suspension and errr... thats it.  :'(

http://www.ijdonline.co.uk/main/cars/kitcar/index.asp

Theres a few pics on my website (above), and a little test video of the engine running (sat on a plank of wood in the frame, with me holding it!  ;D). That was the last time that engine ran too :-[ Really must get on with it.

Hi
Very impressive build.  Its good to see that you have done away with the horrible sliding pillar front suspension of the original kit.

Elite now gone.  Bought an X-Type 4x4.  If there had been an Omega 4x4 I would have bought that instead.  We really liked the Omega, but I wanted 4x4.

to me a similar problem, but to me more space forward. unite shorter distance of the pipes going to enter Y
Only low space the flow meters, but I think add 2x flow metter  and MS2

MartinP>>
how you intend to solve the conduct of the exhaust manifold. Home Made? the length, diameter of the pipes are going to use?
