Finally found a bit of motivation to fit a new cam oil seal to Piere last week. Fired it up and its still sparying oil all over the place.
Should I buy a new cam ? Not sure. I fitted an SKF Speedisleeve over the end a while back which cured things for a while.
Tempted to buy a new cam, another new seal and try again. But if that doesnt cure it wtf will ? 

I assume the crank case ventilation setup is all nice and clear and the engine is not pressurising?

Tried in vain to find the source of the knock from under the o/s/f of the Omega.
Sounds like a balljoint or similar, but apart from the fact they are newish, inspection suggests they are ok. Same with droplinks and T.R.E,s.
The knocking going over any kind of bumps is driving me nuts.

Crankcase ventilation is clean as a whistle. Anyone remind me how to tell if engine is pressurising ?

Top mount or duff shock 

Shouldnt be top mounts. They were new Monaro top mounts 5 years / 15000 miles ago. Car is usually driven quite gently, so they have had an easy life.
Front dampers, possibly. They came from a plod car courtesy of Gastrokleptomaniac, and I have no idea how many miles they have covered.

Pull the dipstick with it running and see how much pressure is there

Age/mileage are irrelevant as both can fail in short order.

No worries, big slap to the previous owner for not de-registering the car........hopefully the extra subscription period will compensate

She nipped into town after work yesterday, interesting to see the difference in MPG readings between the trip there, and the trip back. Same route, trip there was 38mpg, trip back was 28mpg.  It is uphill on way back....

Bought some shitty wheels and tyres from egay for the BBP, so I could get mine refurbed and straightened.  Chucked them on, then took my old wheels to one of the refurb places I've used a couple of times before.

The ditch finders now on the car do give immense understeer when pushed. I must remember than for the next week or so.  And its not even wet yet

Tweaked the headlight aim on the Alabama Mumsybus.

Drove it for the first time in the dark since swapping out the rear suspension and found them to be quite low... As in barely 10 ft ahead  low. Commute tomorrow is at 3:30, so that obviously needed addressing

Marked the beam on the garage door and adjusted it up an inch on both sides. Will take my 6mm Allen key with me just in case they need further tweaking. Nice and easy to do though

Joking aside, seeing the wheels on HMs hearse the other day did make me wonder if they were a retail option and how they would look on a slate grey lwb XJ...

Its the bloody roads around here.  I count 15 wheels in the last 15 years that were either destroyed or needed straightening
