Been to the farm in the  RRS & collected the caravan off to Yorkshire for a few days to catch up with some family, several nice walks & of course some pub visits..🍺🍺🍺

I need to work out how to do this on the iX. One of the more dubious design decisions on the car was to build the washer nozzles into the wiper blades, so you only change the rubbers, I'm sure it will be a doddle  :-X

If yours has ‘water blades’ you just remove the wiper blade as normal and pull the feed pipe off the nozzle on the blade.  :y  You need to put the wiper arms into maintenance park position first. They’re good wipers with that system.  :y

Welding again on the Omega. Rear of n/s sill and quite a bit around the inner wheel arch.
As is often the case, once I chopped away all the rust there was a lot more welding required than I thought there might be, but its almost finished now.
Rain stopped play when I had one more smallish (2 inch by 4 inch) plate left to do.
Hoping to get it finished in the morning.
Then have a similar job (although a lot less welding) to do on sons Civic.
This all started with me deciding to attend to the rust bubbles on the rear wheelarches.  ::) ;D

Towed the teardrop trailer to Santa Pod Friday, Omega engine made short work of that but bolts came undone on l/h down pipe to silencer flange so was a bit noisy! Fixed that okay at the track, then on the way back home the wipers packed up as we went past Coventry. I just stuck behind my mates trailer lights and I could see white lines okay, flat screen in the Austin helps but it got a bit iffy on the M42 and M5 as it chucked it down. My mate got the web down as well doing 60 ,when I messaged later he said it was bad enough seeing where he was going in his T6 camper so to keep up with the hot rod was well done.

Finished all the welding on the rear end of the Omega. tidied everything up with the angle grinder, painted Hammerite rust preventer primer over the top, then coated liberally with spray on underseal.
As Webby the Bear used to say - A grinder and paint can make a welder what he aint, so all in all , the jobs a goodun.
Now on to the purely cosmetic jobs, if the weather allows.
Also got an exhaust blow on the off side, from right at the front, when first starting the engine.
Either manifold to downpipe or manifold gasket.
We shall see, when I get around to doing the job.

Now off to take the Tortoise for a walk around the garden.
No rest for the wicked, eh ?  :D

Fixed the wipers again on the Austin/Omega, hope the soldered joint on the conduit holds this time. Have some MAP gas this time so got it hot enough. Checked over engine and its not lost any oil or coolant over 600 plus miles (speedo out as reads 25 when it should be 30 but my maths no good enough to work out %) . Trip says 560 and that was 2 tanks of fuel, last trip towing the caravan. I am well pleased with the engine/gearbox as it drives nice and smooth with a good burble at low revs and a full on sound on full chat.
