Its a simply level sensor in the sump...

presumably though the 'check oil level' should already be showing at that point?
Not aware of any Omega having a 2 stage warning...

Well i was confused a bit by this......ive seen on my 2.2 'check oil level' i was wondering about the 'oil lack'......maybe the oil lack message is prefacelift and message got changed on facelifts???  :-/

Not sure if/when any change occured.  Would have said most likely between the MID mods (98), but fairly certain mine says Oil Lack  :-/

many thanks for everyones help, its never done it again and i've checked the oil more often, it never uses any, unlike petrol!! i'm guessing it was just a sensor playing up  :)
