*Further Update*

Theres def no stored codes.

I believe that with a V6 the cylinders fire in pairs, 1&4, 2&5, 3&6.

So if i lift the plug lead and i cannot hear it sparking then that is the cylinder that isn't firing, if its pair is the same them its likely to be the dis pack and not just an HT lead.

So in the driverside bank, the back and middle plugs are sparking and the front isnt.

On passanger side the front and middle are sparking, but i cannot get to the back to check.

Is the front drivers side paired with the rear passenger side?

Just want to check before i chuck in a new dis pack to find out its just the HT leads

Of course if im talking balls then can some one let me know how else i would check without checking the Ohms reading of each lead

sounds like either leads or dis pack or both replace the cheapest of the two first,or maybe someone would know how to get them checked out.

Swapped HT leads over at the Dis pack, and its def the pack faulty but only on one cylinder.

What are the chances of one of the pairs failing, or is there a chance it could be a wireing fault??

How the hell do i get to the bolts that hold the pack in place?? only just about see them let alone undo them!!!!

Is it easier with the plenium off??

system is "wasted spark" so the DIS only produces 3 "sets" of sparks/ rev, but each one twice.....  if one "set" goes down you lose spark to 2 cylinders....

If the insulation is breaking down only on one end of one of the coils, it will only take out one cylinder, though. In this case, 1 and 4 are paired. 4 appears to be firing but it's still likely to be a fault on that coil on the DIS pack.

If there's available length in the leads you could swap over the leads for 1 and 4 at the dis pack and see if the fault moves to cylinder 4 but I think it's already conclusive, TBH.
