Facelift Suspension: MV6 vs. Elite
« on: 20 April 2008, 14:39:26 »

What's the difference between the self-levelling suspension on the facelift MV6 compared to the facelift Elite?  :-/

iirc MV6 does not have self-levelling.

Only Elite's do.

So the MV6 facelift doesn't have slightly lowered sports self-levelling suspension then? :(

just sport shocks.... need someone else to confirm, but i am 90% sure MV6 ones are just stiffer no self leveling!

Easiest way, look at the shocks, see if they have a leccy loom comming off them!

I can't look easily as I have an Elite.

Having put those 19" Snowflakes on the car, I'm wondering whether the car should be lower than it is; I don't want to "slam" it, despite the wheels being bigger they are still genuine Vauxhall wheels and I want the car to look as though it is a factory fit "Sport Pack" rather than a boy racer car, so lowering may not be necessary. The other concern would be messing with the tracking etc.

Is the MV6 any lower or just stiffer?

Hi,
Don't wish to confuse anyone, but my MV6 estate has self levelling shocks at rear. Unsure whether this only applies to estate version though.

Cheers Roger, that's reassuring. I'd heard as much, we just need to find out the true score on the MV6 facelift saloon now.

As i keep saying, it won't have self levelling unless it was added as an optional extra from the factory....

OK Tunnie I get the message :y, are you saying that there is a factory fit "option" which I could get hold of that would lower (30mm) and stiffen my car and would still retain the self-levelling?

yup  :)  :y

From what i remember, it was just the springs which lowered the car, not the shocks  :-/

I always found the MV6 spot on for handling, whats the reason for self leveling?

Do you do a lot of towing?
