Or.. if you're feeling a little more sedate, this little beauty I spotted at Dover when leaving for my summer hols.

Lovely one, and the one behind too. But I understand what you mean by "leaving" for your "summer" holidays, can see the grey rainclouds gathering at Dover ready to move inland for the rest of us
There were quite a few Cortinas on our ferry. We got embroiled in the "Cortinas to Cortina" rally. 8-)

I still miss the Cortina's; they were good reliable business workhorses that I found a pleasure to drive. Although I had Mk2, Mk3, Mk4 & Mk5 (the last three estates) versions, it is the Mk5 I particularly liked. However now I really would love a good condition collectors Mk2 1600E (in metallic silver!)

. All the Cortina's were simple to work on, none of the electronics you have now, and no bloody sensors!!
If I remember correctly the most revolutionary item on any of these cars was the then new concept of a 'crossflow' engine on the Mk 2's!

To get back to the original thread: their sun roofs, when fitted usually as an option on the models I had, often leaked!!
