Albatross, if you want the back-end to be more stiff, might as well fit Blistens?

But i have heard they could be too hard, if you don't like the Elite setup, i would fit standard MV6 shocks. Which are not self levelling (SL)

Only need SL for pulling caravans or heavy loads.

Personally if i had a 3.2 Elite, and wanted less roll, i would just fit standard MV6.

Thanks for that Captain :y

So I think I need:

Front LH:      9192291
Front RH:      9192292

Rear MV6:      72119086 (Assuming I junk the self levelling)
Rear:      72119084 (Assuming I keep the self levelling)

I (WIM) have already adjusted the position of the mounting of the self-levelling sensor on the trailing arm since fitting the MV6 springs so I may get away with the self-levelling shocks.

TMX, who has a self-levelling MV6 saloon (mini-facelift) has kindly just shared his VIN and VRN numbers with me so I might be able to see what my local Vx stealers come up with for his car too.

I may just simply bow to TB and Tunnies superior knowledge and advice and junk the self levelling. I will NEVER EVER tow an effin' caravan as long as I have a hole up my ar$e.

Tunnie, can you buy Bilsteins that are the standard MV6 height or do they only do those that lower the car? I don't want it much, if any, lower than an MV6 to be honest.

Is there a problem with your rear shocks as theyre going to be the same as the self levellers I've given you the number for.

Whats the millage on yours Alba?

Mines on 110k now, although my shocks don't seam to be leaking, they are going to be past their best.

Main reason i am changing mine now, is i will be underneath the car doing the springs anyway, makes sense to change them now. As i will get the use out of them  :)

If yours has no more than say 85/90k miles, or you have problems with it, i would save the dosh for now  :y

I only know of a problem with my front LH shock from the tyre wear pattern, but I thought I'd do them all at once. There is logic to this for a couple of reasons.

I've just changed over to MV6 springs is one reason. The other reason is that my car seems to be about 15-20mm higher on the driver's side at the rear and I was wondering whether that was a sign that the shock on the rear near side was getting a bit tired so I thought I may as well do all 4 shocks at once to be sure.

My car has done 96K

Hence doing mine now, its done almost 15k more miles.

Mine were totally rubbered when I changed them today.

Mine don't appear to be leaking, but look very like those pictures around the bottoms. Does that mean they're 'rubbered' too?

The crud around the bottom is an accumulation of the shocker oil and general road dirt so I'd be thinking yours are on their way out too.

That's that then; thanks for all the advice.

I need:

Front LH MV6:      9192291
Front RH MV6:     9192292

Rear MV6:          72119086

I think.

Tunnie, I'll bring them, a spare pair of hands and anything else useful with me on Sunday. I might bring round oil and filter and do that whilst I'm there too.
