LPG that is 50% cheaper than petrol. The conversion will cost £ 1,495 + VAT

not a bad quote all in all mate, especially if they confirm it to be a SGI system.

Why not go down the DIY route, i'm not tarnising all companies the same way but you read some of the reports from members of the the forum who have had conversions and there have been issues with installation, set up and overall quality, Entwood does seem to be the exception)
DIY conversions on the other hand seem to be done to a far better standard because it is our own car.

If you have a moderate level of mechanical knowledge then fitting an LPG kit is not rocket science.

Cost, between £650 and £700 including VAT

finally got round to chasing this up and it is a multi point sequential system, and your choice of tank in my case dohnut in the spare wheel well.
Enquired about buying just the kit but they want me to send an email as they just closing!!!

ps i worked out that if i pay by finance i will have to find an extra 133 a month for 6 months when taking the lpg saving into account! Smart.

Make sure you go for a 4 hole tank - with the 3.2 it's the only way you will get enough LPG to the front of the car, also it will fill much quicker than a multivalve.

I'd ask these guys if they have done any V6 Omegas before and if you could speak to a previous Omega customer for a reference.

Definitely do as SteveD says... Don't just take their word for it... Get references.

Also, if you are moderately capable then go down the DIY route... I can PM you the details of the guy who supplied most of the DIY kits used before (not Jeremy but his supplier!) who will do you a cracking deal.

Speak to some members here, and see if they can help.

DIY kit is £700. Remember you need a beefier tank for 3.0's with increased flow.

That leaves you £800 spare, compared with that quote.

Use those funds to 'bribe' members here, pay for their fuel, hotel if needed, and cash on the side.

You know then that its been done right, having seen the trouble Danny had with his, i would hate to see that happen again.

I wouldn't let a so called professional anywhere near my car!!! After Danny's problems, then I looked at Snips' conversion, which is very neat but not right, I'd rather do my own (like I am) with any available assistance from other members!!

I will have a spare inlet manifold from a 3.0, not sure if it's the same for the 3.2, which is available for members to borrow on an exchange basis

Do as Tunnie suggested and seek more advice from members here. I, for one, would be willing to assist anyone who wants to go down the DIY route if time allowed for no more than my travel/accommodation costs and an endless supply of tea during the day

I seriously ..... seriously doubt any garage can do a better job than Kevin did.

I fitted a Bigas SGIN system with a 90 litre tank across the back of my Elite under the parcel shelf, it was a tight fit because of the sound system in the cars, this gives me just over 70 litres of gas. The system was easy to set up with a lap top & came from Tinley Tech who will help you throughout. Car runs better than petrol now. My Vectra 2 litre has a mixer system but was harder to set up as a DIY.

in 2 minds tbh. If i do it myself i am sure i can do a good job and wont have to worry about what they are doing with my car. But trouble is diy jobs have a habit of not getting finished for months with one thing or another. I could save 800 sobs true, but if i can find a place to do a decent job then i would pay that for the agro saved and getting the job done and dusted. Thinking about it, if you HAVE to pay over 2k to get a decent install then i would defo diy
But this is almost cheap enough to be worth the risk. As said i need to check some refs and maybe pay a visit and see what they get up to. They said they do over 20 cars a day.(not IN a day mind) Next appointment was tues 19th return by following fri/ sat.

I would do the sums carefully. I'm not sure I'd have bothered to convert mine had it not been possible DIY. With the cost of LPG in the area (62p a litre the norm, 59.9 if you're lucky) it will take the best part of 10k miles to pay back the conversion costs for me. Add another grand to the costs and you're up to well over 20k before you see any savings.

That's more than a year of motoring for me and with petrol coming down in price and LPG still on the up (another 1p a litre for me this week) it could be longer still. :-/

It's certainly worth it on a DIY basis but, given the added risk associated with getting the work done, and the added cost.... :-/

You've just made my day!!!! Was really unsure whether it'd fit as I've ended up with a 90L due to the 80L being out of stock!!

The usual price for 6cyl is £1750 (all inc) but as I'm the owner of omega I'm sure we could do couple hundred quid off  8-)

It's a good price but still a lot of money to spend on a car that's worth less than that :-? :-? :-?

I still say if you can throw a spanner about, you can DIY (with the assistance/advice of others here who have done it

Incidentally Andrew, I looked at your company at one point when I was thinking about converting... Just felt that I couldn't justify nearly tripling the payback time when I'm perfectly capable of DIY!
