Guys, you ae all getting the wrong end of the stick!!! Omega will run quite happily on the supermarket fuels, but as you know the TD has a fly by wire throttle, inside the pump is for want of a better word a potentiometer when you press the pedal the electronics move the pump position to the throttle required posistion in the pump, now what happens with lower quality fuels is the pot gets covered in crap and starts to lose certain bits of the track board signal, when it gets really bad you get driveability problems sometimes bad enough to warrant the pump being replaced

othertimes you get silly niggley faults like the above, the diesel mGIC TRICK CLEANS THE POT OF CRAP AND ALLOWS IT TO GET THE CORRECT VOLTAGES REQUIRED!!
so aids driveability and cures many little faults, its always worth a go before anything else, maf sensor failing gives a similar fault but a clean pump is always a good start to any diesel diagnosis, worst one i have done was a range rover dse the dealer wanted to fit a new pump, i did the diesel magic trick 4 times and each time it got better and better till now the rr runs as it should and has been running perfectly for the past 13months!! in fact am going to see it when im back in the uk next month just to check it over for the nice lady owner!!!
