Hi
I have a 2001 3 liter elite. In the last few months a lot of things have gone wrong, breaks, susspension, tensioner bearing siezer and more costing £2500 to put right. Each time I come back from the garage something else goes wrong. Lost all faith in the garage apart from empty pocket.
Now the ornage dot matrix display panel seems to have died. It is not diplaying anything at all. The radio/cd still works with lesser functionality. I want to try and tackle this myself. Are there any common faults in this area which would cause this? Or is it expensive job of getting a replacement one?
thanks
What stereo? NCDC type, with built in satnav (I'm guessing it is), or the CCR2006 with the MID?
If the latter, MIDs can be picked up cheaply 2nd hand, and your type are very reliable.
If its Satnav one, if its orange half height display, possibly backlight bulbs, it takes 3 of them.
If its satnav one with colour display, you are up a smelly creek looking for an oar.
If the stereo is NCDC type, you cannot just change the screen, its not that simple. The old screen needs to be decoded from radio, then the replacement recoded.
