Chip it fellas - you'll wonder why you've not done it sooner!

Fuel consumption on mine is a (proven) constant 33mpg - no matter how or where it's driven (not tried it with the caravan in tow yet).
Several other members also get similar consumption figures.
I get that unchipped & an auto AR25 calculated (not MID because I'm in the cheap seats)!
Would like to improve on it though

I think mine has now settled at about 40mpg real average with upto 45-50 showing on the MID. On a good run I can do a real 50mpg with about 60mpg on the MID!

So I have established that the MID is as good as useless! The chip, however, is very much worthwhile.  :)

Ok, Ok, i`m convinced!! You guys have talked me into it!!  ;D So I`m now making the first deposit into the Miggy-bank!!Sounds like i`ll need to budget for some new driving shoes - as opposed to slippers if things go as planned!! Made a couple of enquiries re: boxes at the breakers and the cheeky monkeys wanted £200+!!! Well i spose patience is a virtue? :D :D Watch this space!!!

I would say your best bet would be to whip your ECU out and open it up frst to see if it needs to be socketed to accept the chip (take note of the serial number).

On the picture below, it is the chip on the left (with the white plastic cover on) - the pic shows a socketed board (good news) if your chip is direct into the board you will need to solder a socket in before you can install the chip.

Then PM TheBoy or Omegatoy to arrange the chip, and keep your eyes peeled in the for sale section for an AR35, or ask MutantCav as he always seems to have a few lurking about!

I have just re-brimmed tractor to manually calculate economy.  97 miles, 13.5l, that included some 3 figure speeds (obviously on a private road).  Thats from a auto.

With all the foregoing Jamie, that's not bad.
My maths come up with just under 33mpg for yours - same consumption as mine. As yours is an auto and shown little mercy - I'd be happy.

Not good enough in my book, but improvement on the 28/29 I get from it non-chipped, even being miss daisy

Doubt any computer shops will do it - christ, most of the current crop can only just plug in cards!

You will need to buy the socket.  Have you checked if yours already has a socket?
