I once heard of a mysterious overheating temp gauge that returned to normal when the sidelights were switched on...dodgy clock board apparently.

Worth a try if you haven't already driven at night since this problem started... :question

Hi

Did you manage to resolve you overheating? Symptoms sound similar to mine. I've tried taking the rad out and giving it a good hose through, but the vast majority of hot water still seems to prefer the auxiliary pump route across the back of the rad rather than through it.

Is it possible your other works disturbed some muck that is now blocking the rad?

yes.....problem solved.....

after about 2-3 hours of flushing engine backwards and frontwards....same with the rad and any other water orifice i could get a hose in.....!!!!

to be honest i didn't see much in the way of crap coming out....?

maybe just push an airlock out....who knows..?

so....just refilled with some antifreeze and all seems fine so far...fingers crossed...
