:y Hi Andy B, I have one on order made by Draper. Don't forget, you are around car engines a fair bit & know what you are looking at ;) I, on the other hand am a retired Plumber/Gasfitter who knows his way around a boiler or leaky pipe, but hasn't much idea taking an engine to bits (yet) My income doesn't allow Main Dealer fixes, or for that matter 'back street' garages either, so learning to fix/look after my Omega myself is a priority now, thats why this Forum is so fantastic, because of Guys like you  ::). Anyway, I love this car so much I wouldn't want any Tom Dick or whatsit playing with it who didn't feel the same way about her as I do! Kind regards, Phil :y :y

If you're handy enough to be able to use a pipe bender, fit  & generally repair a boiler, you'll be able to fit a cam belt to a 4 pot Omega. You might need something other than big hammer, stilsons & pipegrips though!  ;)   ;)

I've done a cambelt and Head Gasket on a 4 pot, using the cam locking tool it was quite straightforward, took 2 of us an afternoon to complete.

One important thing.
Change the waterpump if you change the cambelt.
If you don't change it you can be in serious trouble (as I unfortunately found out)

;D Thanks to everyone who put in their two pennysworth on this issue, I now have one on order from the OOF shop thanks to the very kind intervention of TB. You lot really are a lovely set of blokes (& girls!). Kindest regards, Phil  :y :y :y
