The lights will go out when fault fixed. Assuming its not the ECU thats faulty.

Never known cleaning ABS sensors to ever fix an ABS fault

It doesn't need to be reset. If the sensors are working it'll be happy. If not, it'll raise fault codes, readable with a tech 2. ECU failure is also relatively common. What are the symptoms?

abs/tc lights on. speedo ok. the ecu was new july 07. have vaux reciepts for it. had it tech 2`d at vaux, it wouldnt read the ecu. they unplugged the ecu, this put the lights out. when i drove it 100 yrds down the road the lights came back on. :(

Sounds like we need to resolve why the ECU couldn't be diagnosed. If speedo doesn't die it doesn't sound like the usual ECU failure.

A simple controll of that the ecu gets its signal would be smart before changing it.

The fact that your ecu doesn't give you the lamp before you move the car is also a sign of an faulty signal from one of the wheels, but it can be an internal problem in the ecu...

You can use a simple OHM meter to check the sensors, and if they are ok. check that the sensors are occilating (use an voltmeter and set it at AC current, they will give you 0.1-1 volt ac when you spin the wheels.)
The sensor wiring are best located as four shielded wires entering the plug to the ecu.

The occilating test is important since a damaged sensor head ore damaged/missing sensor ring can fool you on the ohm test saying thats its ok, but you still have no signal.

Also check the brakeswitch located on your pedal, this engages the abs pump, if you have cruise control fitted you can notice if the system release when you brake.

Ime not sure what youre asking for, but that partnumber goes for the 2.5 and 3.0 litre range 94-01, the 3.2 litre uses the 9198884 ecu, both are bosch so i think there mus be a misstyping on your reciept.

Not sure about TC, but I think the ABS will bring up the lamp for (total) brake light failure.

Worth checking you have brake lights coming on.

That also must be a misprint, as the ECU changed in 1998...

You need a tech 2 session with an operator who knows how to use it. Which means avoiding the dealers. The Boy has tech 2 and if he doesnt sort it i will be very suprised, or direct you to someone a bit nearer. Dam site cheaper as well.
