if anti theft is involved then would power sounder upset it, if either disconnected or battery acid infected? Just a thought....

From the drawings the power sounder is fed from F14 (30amp) and FV5 (80amp) but there is connections to the anti theft control box

Might be time to get another anti theft control box.. Are these coded to the car, would it need setting up with a Tech 2 ?

Ergo it just catches fire when there's a fault!

Certainly coded to the remote keys but I would do some diagnosis before replacing anything. See if the fuse blows again for a start.

The fuse blowing is so random and intermittent that  it makes usual diagnosis very hard to do.. The fuse might go once in six months or when I was in France last month it went 6 times in one day !  Up to now I haven't bothered too much because its been so random and spread out.. But now I've seen some others have had the same fault I'd like to get to the bottom of it..

Just an observation really, presumably when in France the car had luggage in it and possibly more people in than normal, could it be something in the boot area or rear passenger kicking something under the seats, like I said just an observation.

The fuse blew once in Dover docks when parked up.. Then again part way through France just after filling up with fuel (i did a lot of that in France!) after we arrived where we we staying (near Grenoble)  I had to move the car and the car was empty of people and luggage by then. I had 4 in the car with quite a lot of luggage. But it was hot, around 30deg.. It blew 4 fuses then, one after the other..

It didn't do it again for the rest of the time we were in France even when we drove 600 miles home from Morzine during the day in 32 deg heat.

It seems totally random, apart from only doing it after the ignition is turned on, never when the car is moving. The engine will carry on running if I pull the fuse out, but I cant start the engine if its not in.
