Are there no pictures from meets, etc. that could verify the identity?

Plenum is not necessarily an indicator of engine size as the original plenum could have been refitted. You would need to look for identification marks in the block casting to be sure IMHO.

I could probably pop over tomorrow and have a quick look if you like. Petersfield is not too far.

I've kinda bottled it. The Trader sent me a picture of the engine bay and the top of the plenum was huge. The twin tubes at the front barely got around the corner before they flew in to the plenum.

I'm convinced its Andy's old modder.
That said, the trader DID check under the car and said the exhaust looks complete, although the rear sections look a lot better than the front. Suspect the original exhaust was put back on at some stage.

Threre was a modded blue cdx on ebay a few weeks ago. It had a 3.0 put in it, and the seller said it was a well known car on the oof. It went for £1000. How much does the trader want for it?

I'm sure its the same one.
EVERYTHING would suggest it is. The trader didn't buy it directly, it came to him from the nipper that paid the £1000.00
The guy who got it from Ebay seems to have only kept it a few weeks and then traded it in...heck knows why.  Its now up for £1500.00 although that was before I pointed out to the Trader what he actually had. He thought it was a looked after 2.5CDX still, not knowing about all the mods she'd had.

Incidently, I spoke to my Insurer this afternoon who said it was un-insurable as far as they were concerned....and had I bought it they wouldn't have covered me. ?? Spooky but true !

I'm REALLY gutted because I'd have jumped at her if it was a standard...but with all the mods..I can't. The brakes are upgraded also and I suspect would cost quite a bit when worn out.  Very sad as she is a great looking car.....and as it turns out..a great unique performer as well !

The way Charlie Brown looks under my name on the left is pretty much EXACTLY how I feel right now ! Bummer. !!!!!!

It was changed from a 2.5 to a 3.0 engine.

And I saw it whilst I was looking at another he was selling. Mint car it was

You have saved me a great deal of time, money and hurt.

Would have dearly loved to have got the car but with all the mods and all...it became impossible.

I would have been left with a car that I couldn't easily get insurance for...without paying a fortune.

Seems insurance companies are paranoid about any vehicle thats been modded...in any sort of way.
