On paper sounds ok, if cambelt been done in 07 as they say.

Bear in mind Omegas are cheap anyway and there are loads about, so no need to rush in if not 100% happy.

Choice is down to what you personally want, some want cheaper costs, some want power and spec.

I have a facelift 2.2 auto and have done a lot of work on it, which with most other cars would have not been worth it.

But with OOF and helpful members, I have turned around a tired 100k car into a very good one, fairly cheaply.

FYI the consensus seems to be that the best balance of performance and economy is a 2.5 V6 manual.  The 2.0 is a bit underpowered (and many say the 2.2 is too).

Check specs before buying-the GLS is the basic car and you will find a nice CDX for not much more.

Are you familiar with the obvious things to look at on any car, like oil/water etc?

unfortunatly i have a week as my primera has died and im limited to the bus till payday next weekend, and getting up at half 6 for hour and a half of public transport for a journey that takes me 20mins in a car getting paid monthly doesnt help i suppose, im sort of torn between the omega and the same trader has a 95 BMW 530i which looks tidy, but doubt i can afford the insurance on the 3 litre BMW

i would opt for the omega parts are cheaper and i believe its gives a better ride. after all if you like the omega you can always look for a "proper" v6  ;Done later

yea, well ive contacted Kate about the one her neighbour is selling and a bit more info on it, so hopefully ill have an omega by end of next weekend

If money is tight, buy the Omega.

curiously the insurance is cheaper on the one posted by Kate than the one im looking at on saturday yet its same size engine and same plate (W)

i dont really trust parkers as ya can never get cars similar prices they state that and my shed has a 4* rating in reliabilty yet it dies stupidly often for example my bro is putting in my THIRD driveshaft on friday

If it's the Primera your talking about in you sig then they must have changed dramatically.
I owned four previously to owning an Omega, they were absolutely 100% reliable, only ever had the bonnet open to check the levels on any of them.
Sold the last one an estate, to a work mate. He come complaining to me about two years after I'd sold it to him that he'd had to replace a brake light bulb!

Only changed to Omegas because of the need to get an heavier towcar.

7 years omega ownership 2 front wishbones 1 cambelt kit plus usual service parts & tyres. Oh and an oil cooler on the 2.5
