« on: 20 January 2010, 20:01:22 »

As the title suggest getting 2 x new tryes tomorrow would you stick them on the back or front - had 2 x new ones a few months ago put on the front which have now done 3 or 4000 miles so do i leave them where they are or put them on the back and new on the front blah blah blah

Personally, I'd stick the new ones on the rear - the driven wheels.
I'd stick 'em on the front if it was FWD.....which, gladly, it isn't! :y

OK, forgetting that the other ones have only done a few thou, I am sorry but don't agree with everyone else.  ::)  I like my best tyres on the front, because steering is more important than traction. Just my opinion. I await more comments.  ::)

I always stick on back, regardless of fwd/rwd.  front easier to control than rear when grip disappears

If you go to Costco you get them at the back, whether you want them there or not! http://  :-/http://www.michelin.co.uk/michelinuk/en/car-4x4-van/less-worn-tyres-rear/20070314172074.html

Put em on the rear mate, everytime :y the rears will be nicely scrubbed in now and just perfect for the front.

For most, understeer is easier to control than oversteer ;)

When I had my set-up done at WIM the advice given was to leave tyres on whatever axle they are on, and not to swap them around. They were of the opinion that if the car is setup correctly, there should be no "wear to even out" and that tyres "settle" to slight differences in suspension. Thus moving them can cause other problems

Now I know nothing ......

So was I to start with ... only the sharp eyed guy noticed a screw head in one of the "good" tyres whilst fitting the alignement stuff ... that lead to getting 4 tyres .. but it wasn't the plan !!
