After hours of laying on my back with a torch in my mouth trying to direct some light towards that bloomin motor, i finally managed to get the arm to pop back on, i even got it to click,so a nice snug fit.
So refitted everything back, cliped case back on after i had tried it a few times, all was well, lever was moving up and down, i could hear the flaps moving, so went out for a drive to warm her up, heat at last on my side, only for a short time ,checked the lever, it had come of, so attached it  again, turned on engine and watched, it poped of as soon as it went to its lowest point,i did this about ten times with different combinations, auto, eco, full fan, etc,
It seams to me that when the heat starts coming through something is causing the lever to pop of,while i was watching the motor and lever it looked to me like it had done its cycle to the lowest point ,then it moved very slightly again, which caused it to come of.
Anybody got any ideas,if its the lever warn, how do i change it, i cant see where it goes ,or is it a knackered motor perhaps doing an extra turn.?

Fitted another motor today, but the lever/arm is still popping of when it gets to its lowest point on the motor, so i think the next thing is to try a never arm/lever, it could possibly just not fitting tight enough, can anyone tell me where this arm dissapears up ito the dash please, ad how do i get to it to change it???

Can,t help there Rog, but I do know the arm is joined at the top before it disappears out of view, as it came off when I did mine & it was a bitch to put back on! The guy who's guide I followed, said to heat the end with a hot air paint stripper & pinch the ends together to make a tighter fit, but this did not work for me so I eventually fastened the arm to the motor cam with a thin cable tie and this has now been working for the last 8 months with no further problems. BTW, I would place a towel or sheet under the work area and into the foot well to stop any screws dropping behind the carpet, as once down there they are lost unless you want to rip the seat and carpet out to get them back!!! HTH, Regards Phil.

The arm came off higher up Rog, so I fixed it to the motor while it was out & then refitted the motor. It was a B**tard to refit the top end of the arm & cost me a bit of skin! did you remove the drop down door that covers the fuse box & take out the heater vent cover & heater duct behind it? You need to, to give you the best access. You need plenty of light, not just a torch in your mouth (although that will stop you swearing out loud LOL). Also, make sure the steel actuator rod for the rear seat vents is properly connected to the motor before you close everything up! :y

wonder if this all only applies to the cars with the motor on the drivers side footwell. was hoping someone would find out where that bloomin lever arm goes up to soon so gonna take the stereo out next weekend and see if i can get my mitts in there that way and see if it has come off further up above the motor as it's definitely connected to the motor. prepare to lose skin!!

tried the stereo Dan, no way in there mate, the only way is to take of fuse holder door, and then remove the heating duck pipe for the feet, then its on your back ,back of head resting on the brake pedal and look to your right, there you will see all, oh ,you will need plenty of light, so my advice is get the lighting sorted befor you squeeze yourself under there.Best of luck!!! :y

You won`t see sod all with the radio out. Stick your head in the footwell and move the arm whilst looking up and you will see that`s it`s connected to another small arm
