Funny I told a guy today to "Stop wasting my time and get out of my Bank, if I've told you once I've told you three times - NO I wont give you your charges back.....oh, and have a Happy Christmas ;D

i am with a well know building society, i have been with them for 22 years, i only use it to pay DDs, i transfer money each month for them, 3 months ago i transfered the wrong amount and one of my DDs went unpaid, they charged me over £30.00 for the returned DD.

I called the branch and told them my error but they would not return my charges even though i pointed out to them i had been with them for 22 years with never once being low on funds.

I thought that they would have given me them back after all the loyalty over the years.

Least to say the account is now closed.

You didn't put the funds in to cover the DD, it's your own fault dimbo ;D

I know that you twonk, i thought as it was the first time and all the time i had been with them they would have leaned a bit.

If all you use the account for is DD's it will cost them about £500 to keep it open.  If you had your wages, savings, credit card, mortgage etc all with them it would have been a different story.  I hope the current court case makes all the Banks and B/soc charge a more reasonable fee - perhaps £10 for first offence and more subsequently - but as people now cherry pick the best deals they have to prop up the revenue from charges.  It is a business afterall.

I am old school, and I really dont see anything wrong with that. We pay £11.50 a month for a barclays additions account and get quite a few perks. We've been with them for donks and never had a problem. So, why switch to save a few pennies each month.

I agree, but the charges are a bit over the top, and paying to draw money out the cash machine is also a rip off, the bank i am with now dont charge anything, if one can do it why cannot others do the same

You've all been chirping on for days now about finishing for the hols and how made up you were. Well, you're all bored shitless already.
If you'd have asked. I could have told you that having time off, in the middle of winter, surrounded by your family is sh*te.

Merry Christmas. ;D
I'd show you pics but photbucket wants my DNA before they'll let me upload a picture.  ::)

You're probably happier this way.  :P ;D
