*UPDATE*

Drilled out PROPERLY and will be fitted correctly.

Will NOT be buying anything from that particular dealer again. and have written (with pictures) to their MD.

I await his grovelling reply.  (if he does actually reply)

If i was u my friend, i would email/write to them again telling them that u have been in contact with ur solicitor who has advised u to inform them of 'The Sale of Goods Act 1979' which among other things states the following -

Fitness for purpose, s14(3)
If the buyer expressly or impliedly makes his purpose for the goods known to the seller, the seller is obliged to make sure the goods provided are fit for that purpose, if it is reasonable for the buyer to rely on the seller's expertise.

I have quoted this numerous times to 'snotty' erchins who have tried to fob me off with ''sorry no exchange or discount if the packaging has been tampered with'' - how the effing heck are u supposed to see if they are the correct parts unless u open the effing packet/box  >:(

They are only too willing to offer a discount or swop once the 'Law' has been quoted  ;)

Good luck  :y

I'd be willing to pitch in, too. By day, I'm kind of in control of the spec and legality of a reasonably-sized fleet of vehicles. you may have seen them - they're all painted green. Also an "expert witness"

Thankyou All for your kind advice.
Will give them every chance to reply, and then go in with the "big guns" if they don't bother.

Was not happy with my "drilled out" bush, have ordered another bush, and will be pressing it in soon as.
