Brake lights not working
« on: 28 May 2010, 20:46:21 »

Hi all,

The brake lights at the back, on the bonnet have all stopped working, the bulbs seem fine.  The other night lights are working but no lights when you step on the brake

any ideas?

No brake lights on my bonnet!  ::) ::) ;)
the brake lights are in the outer  light unit on the wings, those lamps on the boot lid are rear fog lights. I assume you've checked the lamps/bulbs themselves, they're a twin filament bulb. Brake light fuse in fuse 2, shared with the hazards  :y

Brake switch is where you've been looking. Look at the arm under the card cover .... it's there. Honest!  :y

It's not the fogs, and not the lights on the rear qtr which come on when you turn your lights on, it's the light that are on the boot lid that are supposed to come on when you hit the brakes, they don't come on.

As said above ... twice! Your brake lights are in the wings ie stop/tail lights ... a twin filament lamp. The lights in the boot lid are your rear fog lights! Try them, it's the push on/push off combned with your headlight switch

Ok, hmm, I didn't realise.  But the problem still is that the brake lights don't work, when I hit the brakes nothing lights up at the rear.

Someone almost ran into the back and then told me.

But the lights on the rear quarters do come on when you turn on the main lights.
