I sympathise!  I know what it feels like to drive a V6 without Power Steering after the high pressure hose ruptured on me a few weeks ago.  You need arms like Schwarzenegger!

You want to try an Astra G when its 'fan belt' breaks & you've no electric pump cos you've no alternator!

Astra G is much lighter with skinnier tyres and a greater 'lock-to-lock'.

I nearly dislocated my shoulder in the Omega  ;D ;D ;D ;D

You've never tried it then  ::) ;) ;D. It's not like driving a car no power steering, it's bloody hard work, especially when the belt breaks when you're reaching the roundabout from the motorway& you're not ready for the lack of assistance.  ;D  :y

I'm only a skinny f***er and my auxiliary belt let go recently.

I had to be towed home on a rope, by a van (impossible to see around it to get some idea of what was coming up) with no brake lights, driven by a maniac who tried to overtake everything else on the road. It wasn't too bad on the dual carriageway but the twisty Welsh roads were a bit of a challenge...
The brakes also take some effort to use with no servo assistance.
