Managed to get my module off, took about an hour. Had the same symptoms as Mike_T. BBA Reman arranged to pick it up tomorrow, hopefully it will be sorted by next week. :)

Hi, upon opening the unit to reveal the PCB it was found that there were wires as thin as 0.03mm / 0.001" wich were too easily broken whilst removing the "Sticky Gel" covering the board. Sadly the repair had to be abandoned.
Even with the skills and specialist equipment my company has at repairing "Normal" PCBs a repair on this was not going to be reliable.
General feeling was that if a setting (hard) resin had been used then the wires would not have been subjected to movement and eventual failure due to vibrations over time.

Well got a call for BBA Reman saying my module is not repairable  :(. So now got to fiind another. Anyone got an abs module their looking to sell. Would post in wanted section but dont have enough posts. PS would a 2.6 module be ok. as only engine size different?

Engine ECU is very different on the 2.6 so the interface to the ABS ECU could be different. I wouldn't risk it unless the part numbers match. Even then, it might need reconfiguring with a tech 2. Better to find one from a 2.5/3.0 IMHO.

On recieving back my module that BBA Reman said was unrepairable, i had a look inside under a usb microscope. None of the fine wires are broke, so there must be another reason for failure other than these wires as mentioned on this forum elsewhere. Just got to see if my replacement turns up.  :-/
